SPIRIT OF UNSELFISHNESS

Background of Galations:
-Paul writing against "Judaizers"

-Judaism = Justification by lawkeeping

-Paul's message: FREEDOM


Message of freedom:
- Christians are called to freedom

-Should not use freedom for the flesh a.k.a the fallen nature of man

freedom of the flesh is like a raging bull in a cage, give it freedom and it will cause destruction

that "bull" will "give birth" to...
ANTINOMIANISM: Lawless
NARCISSISM: LOVE OF SELF

- Use freedom to others, fullfilling the law of God[LOVE]

Walking by the Spirit:
- WALK
is a positive action towards the fruit of the Spirit[Galations 5:22-23] and not to practice works of the flesh[v19-21]

-GRATIFY

*Freedom in Christ is not the LAW'S LEGAL DEMANDS

*We can easily misuse this freedom and become Antinomians or Narcissists

*Only walking by the Spirit can we be changed to be more other centered

The entire law is summed up in a single command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other."
